Geoffrey: I've heard it said that the Arena game is QB driven, but I'd have to think that like conventional football, success starts up front with both the offensive and defensive lines. You guys have certainly been bitten by the injury bug in recent weeks with respect to your lineman. I'm particularly interested/concerned about OL/FB T.J. Watkins. What's the status on his injury situation, and if/when he returns to the active roster do you see his role on the team expanding? Coach Thonn: Geoffrey, we have had a tough time getting together a solid line on both sides of the ball. I've always said that it doesn't matter what level of football it is, from high school through professional, if you win the battle on the line of scrimmage you usually win the game. T.J Watkins was doing a great job for us before he got hurt. He was our most versatile lineman because he could play fullback also. Hopefully he will be ready to play next week against Colorado. |
