The Grand Rapids Rampage has announced that WR/DB Timon Marshall has re-signed with the team through the 2008 season. Per club policy, no other terms of the contract were disclosed.
"Timon Marshall is one of the most complete two-way guys I've ever coached," said Rampage head coach Sparky McEwen, "he can do everything on offense, on defense and on special teams. I'm extremely pleased to have him here through 2008. He's one of our team captains and has been vital in all facets of the game this year."
Marshall (510, 188 lbs., Ottawa) is having an All-Arena type season. He is second in the AFL in all-purpose yards (2,500); and ranks fourth in kickoff returns (65) and kickoff return yards (1,197). Marshall has also caught 94 passes for 1,209 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns.
Im really excited to continue playing in Grand Rapids and under Coach (Sparky) McEwen, said Marshall, who first played for McEwen in 2004 with the af2s Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. Coach McEwen believed in me in the af2 and I believe in him, this team and its future in getting the Rampage back to the ArenaBowl.
In recent weeks, the Rampage has re-signed quarterback Chad Salisbury, fullback/linebacker Chris Ryan and now Timon Marshall to contracts keeping each in Grand Rapids through 2008.
